How It WorksFor Server Staff

General Settings

General Settings manages live server statistic channels that automatically update to reflect your community's current state.

What Happens

InfiniTea renames configured voice or text channels with real-time counts that update on a regular sync cycle:

  • Member Count Channel: Displays the total number of members currently in the server. The channel name updates automatically as members join or leave.
  • Voice Count Channel: Shows how many members are currently participating in voice channels across the entire server.

These counters give your community at-a-glance visibility into server activity without requiring any manual intervention from staff.

How the Sync Cycle Works

Discord rate-limits channel renames to prevent abuse. InfiniTea batches counter updates to stay within these limits:

  1. The bot checks current member and voice counts on a periodic interval.
  2. If the count has changed since the last rename, the channel name is updated.
  3. If Discord throttles the request, the update is deferred to the next cycle.

This means there may be a short delay (typically under two minutes) between a member joining and the counter reflecting the new total.

Operating Guidance

  • Use dedicated channels that serve no other purpose for counters. This avoids confusion when the channel name changes automatically.
  • Do not manually rename counter channels while bot sync is active. Manual renames will be overwritten on the next cycle.
  • If counters appear stuck, verify InfiniTea has the Manage Channels permission in the category where the counter channels live.
  • Counter channels work best as voice channels in a visible category at the top of your channel list.
